Ombré lips is a semi-permanent makeup treatment that uses pigment to enhance the natural colour, shape and definition of the lips.
The colour is applied in a soft, blended gradient to create a more defined outline with a natural-looking finish through the centre of the lips.
Ombré lips typically last around 1–3 years.
How long the pigment remains visible depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare routine and aftercare.
A colour boost or top-up may be recommended as the pigment gradually fades.
Most clients find the treatment manageable.
A topical numbing product is applied before and during the procedure to help keep you comfortable. You may still feel some light scratching, pressure or tingling.
An ombré lips appointment usually takes around 2–3 hours.
This includes consultation, lip mapping, colour selection, numbing and the application of the pigment.
Immediately after treatment, your lips may appear brighter or darker than the final healed result and may feel slightly swollen or tender.
Over the following days, the lips may become dry and lightly flake. The colour will gradually soften as the area heals.
The final shade normally becomes clearer over the following few weeks.
Temporary side effects can include mild swelling, redness, tenderness, dryness or light flaking.
These effects are generally part of the normal healing process and should settle as the lips recover.
You will be given aftercare instructions to help support healing and protect your results.
