In some cases, your practitioner may recommend allowing the lips to settle fully after dissolving before adding new filler.

Whether treatment can be completed in one appointment or needs a two-stage approach will depend on your existing filler, your lips and your individual treatment plan.

Most clients find both stages manageable.

You may experience brief stinging or discomfort during the dissolving injections, and numbing measures can be used where appropriate for the refill treatment.

Your practitioner will explain what to expect before treatment begins.

The appointment usually takes around 60–90 minutes, depending on whether dissolving and refilling can be carried out together.

If a staged approach is recommended, the two treatments will be completed at separate appointments.

Downtime is usually minimal, although temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur.
Swelling may be more noticeable after dissolving or refilling and should gradually settle over the following days.
