Nasolabial folds are the lines that run from the sides of the nose down towards the corners of the mouth. They are often referred to as smile lines and can become more noticeable over time as facial volume and skin elasticity change.

Smile lines can develop naturally through facial movement, but they often become more pronounced with age due to reduced collagen, loss of volume in the cheeks and mid-face, changes in skin elasticity and genetics

Dermal filler can be carefully placed around the nasolabial folds to restore volume and soften the appearance of the lines. The aim is to create a smoother transition between the cheeks and mouth while maintaining natural facial movement.

Results typically last around 9 to 18 months, although this can vary depending on the type of filler used, the amount placed, your metabolism and individual factors.

Most clients find the treatment manageable. Numbing cream may be used before treatment, and many dermal fillers contain local anaesthetic to help improve comfort during the procedure.

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur around the injection sites. These effects are usually mild and settle within a few days.

Downtime is generally minimal. Most people can return to their usual activities shortly after treatment, although mild swelling or bruising may be present for a few days.
